Before one can be master of things one must first master self.

The biggest obstacles that most will have to overcome is that of self.

More than anything else we often get in our own way.

Practice discipline.

A disciplined and orderly mind bring about substantial and repeatable results.

If one desires to have repeatable success over an extended period discipline is the key.

 

Practice self-control.

One who knows not how to control self is vulnerable to limitless defeat for a lifetime.

He or she is often a slave to a multitude of passions, always ruled but never the conqueror.

• Know your limitations
• Recognize your temptations and avoid them.
• Know when to say no, and know when to say yes.
• In all things, there must be a balance. Too much of anything is gluttonous and weighs the spirit, mind, and the body. Too little lends to starvation of the like.

First learn to master yourself and then learn to master that which you wish to become.

Everything else will fall into place.

“To thy own-self be true,” are some of the most poignant words ever spoken. You can not successfully live as anyone else but you.

Success is very much related to self-knowledge. Mockery and imitation will never render one completely successful. Fulfillment and enrichment of the whole  never result when imitating or taking on that for, which one is not suited. To experience the fullness of success one must be able to deploy all his faculties in his or her pursuits. The whole of the person must be invested.

How can one achieve as someone, he or she can never fully be, or support with his or her gifts ?  For in such a case, It is only the husk of the man, which delves into the experience while the inner being yet thirst. This is why so  many live seemingly successful lives, but yet are  devoid of life, feeling, peace, and happiness. Living someone else’s dream or purposed existence deprives one’s spirit of the life-giving oxygen it needs to thrive. You can only be you and do what you were born to do.

You and only you know what gifts and talents that have been stored up in you. Only you can define your purpose and direction. No one will ever fully know who you are, not even your family and friends, unless you reveal it to them. Therefore, never let someone else  define who you are, what it is you should be doing, or  your unique purpose. Learn the art of discernment, it is the most  powerful tool you will ever obtain.

Many fail to succeed because they have lost themselves in others. They have drowned their dreams and ambitions in a sea of opinions.  People can never see within they can only see without. You must be comfortable with often times rejecting the advice of others. Those who do not, in some distant morning  come to realize that they have lost recognition of self. They have become alien in form.  It dawns on them, that all the  time that has been wasted living out the dreams of others; carrying out someone else’s purpose, can never be regained.This is to lead a life of misery, and entrapment.

From this point there are only two options life or death.

1. Death of dreams, joy, or of the spirit
2. Life through transformation.

One can only live if they  can free themselves and become the person they were meant to be, doing what they were born to do.

This is a self-discovery project.

To know  you requires spending time with yourself. It requires hours of self-reflection, meditation, assessment, and prayer

It is sad that there are so many adrift in the world today, because they simply do not know who they are, or why they exist.

Some are, sadly, perfectly content in their discontent. They do not have the gumption to invest in self-knowledge.  Thus,  their dreams dry up and float away like dust in the wind.

Success is a choice.

Be moved to do all that is necessary to be successful. Choose to be in  control of your life, and its outcome. Don’t let life control you and your choices.

    Have singleness of purpose. Know what it is you want. Lay claim to what is yours, don’t waver, don’t doubt it, and don’t let anything stand in the way of achieving, that . Speak it into existence. Breathe the dream, walk the dream, see the dream, and live the dream. Be bold and be assertive. Boldness Achievement is jump-started by action. One cannot wait unit the time is right, one has to make  right now the time.Some opportunities that pass you by can never be regained.  There is no room for timidity. Timidity crowds out opportunity. Timidity looks at each opportunity, examines it, and then says I’ll wait until I am ready. If one wishes to be successful this can never be. Assertiveness Do not bend to the will of others. Do not let others sabotage your dream or speak obsolescence into your life or over your life.  Do not let others build an insurmountable fortress around that (resources) you need to succeed.  Know who you are, where you are going, what you need, and what is rightfully  yours. Alder Be a Go-Getter Never stake claim in tomorrows. You will have to step out of your box often, to get the things you need, and  take advantage of opportunities to ensure success. Many times there will be obstacles that stand in your way. There will always be the pull and weightiness of uncertainty. Waiting has never served any man. Fear is a natural physiological response to danger. Fear is a responsive cue to  stimuli, which alerts the body; thus acting as an  alarm system.  In the moments of danger, sensory perceptions and heightened awareness, often felt in fear prepare our bodies for  fight or flight. It positions us for survival. Despite its physiological benefits, if embraced, fear can  be an oppressive force that comes  in many forms. Despite the cloak it may wear, in all its forms, it can become one of the  most deadly marauders and life-stealing forces. Left uncontrolled, fear becomes a threat to  survival and happiness. Fear can cripple and steal the steam out of ambition, rendering goals unobtainable.

Yes, we all have the propensity to feel fear. However,  it is the extent to which one permits fear to reign that is quintessential. While fear is a very real response to stimuli it is a merely a mental cue. It (fear) cannot control us without us relinquishing  that control.

Our thoughts give fear its power. Greater concentration, greater manifestation.

It is when we are controlled by fear that our lives become untenable and dreams move the furthest from our grasp.

Courage is necessary for success and achievement.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather  it is the ability to operate in-spite of fear. To succeed, one must take that fear and use it as a tool of empowerment. Use the energy and adrenaline fear produces to propel oneself forward.

Life is uncertain.

A feeling of uncertainty brings about a fear of helplessness, and this is the core reactor of fear. To thwart such thoughts, one must realize, that what is most important is now. Do all you can now to prepare for an uncertain future.  Live with the knowledge that although you don’t know what will happen, you know things will work out. Despite life’s uncertainties you have made it to the place you are today.

Take that fear,  ball up into a small mental whisper, and push it to the corners of your mind.  Illuminate your thoughts with light and positivism.

• Choose to be courageous.
• Live in expectancy, expect things to work out.
• Remember the law of magnetism. Like draws like. Light draws light.

Why should you fear!

Every time you feel the urge to run, crawl, or  to stoop beneath the load of whatever thoughts, situations, or circumstances you are going through; remember all things work together for the good of those who love God and are purposed.

At least they have so far, think about it.

They day a person ceases to dream is the day a person slowly begins to die. A dream and hope is what sustains us. It is what drives us to do bigger and better things. Lorraine Hansberry once posed a question, penned by Langston Hughes, in her famed work of art “A Raisin in the Sun,”

What happens to a dream deferred?  

Never stop or put off your dream. Hold fast to that hope. The essence of life is in hope.

Aim Big

Never limit your dream. Always dream big. The bigger  you aim the bigger your possibility of achieving something great. Shoot for mediocrity and  you will reap mediocrity. There must be a standard above your reach in order that you must stretch yourself to accomplish it. Growth is about stretching yourself. The point wherein one sees the most growth is at the point where he or she pushes himself or herself above and beyond that level of comfortability.

There is no gain without a little bit of pain. 

Don’t give your dream away

Hold fast! Don’t let others diminish your dreams. Small minds have small ideas. Even smaller minds try to limit the ideas and stifle the dreams of others.

Believe you can accomplish what it is you dream. Just be ready to put in the work. There is no limit to what the human spirit can accomplish the evidence is all around us.

Live  the life of a dreamer. Dream big, and believe in that dream.
