Always walk in the knowledge that your actions never impact you alone.

Your actions never solely impact those of your immediate contacts. All who you come in contact with on your job, at home, in the community, or simply passerby’s are touched by the impression you make whether positively or negatively.

Your influence can impact generations and the world.

  • Words

    April 24th, 2015

I was once told that words meant nothing, that  they were nothing more than the vain echo’s of another  simply bouncing off the surface of the walls and floors.

After all sticks and stones can break  your bones, but words can never hurt you.

A word would cause no harm, no hurt. A word would never cause such destruction in a man insomuch  that he  would crumble, crumple, or fall.

Surely, words (simply exchanges of air given melody or rhythm) had no destructive force.

    They were wrong.

Words have the power to both maim and cripple the  part of a man incapable of being touched by any man-made weapon.

Words have the power to penetrate the mind of a man, seep into a man’s spirit,  dissect  resolve,  splinter the spirit, and rend the heart.

Yes, words may not break bones, but the implosion of words upon the spirit of a man can break all that a man believes himself to be, and thus how he or she moves in their waking hours.

The power of the tongueImage result for image quotes on the power of the tongue

The tongue is the most powerful weapon that an individual possesses.

Yet it is the most abused and misused.

With the tongue civilizations have been built and torn asunder.

With a word wars have been waged, and   lives have been saved.

With a word everything that we now see was made.

Our very existence is  predicated on just a few words. ” Let there be,” and there was.

Image result for image quotes Let there be light

Words shape and form our image, hopes, and destinies.

Words turn our course and for some determine eternity.

Simple words such as yes, no, stay, go, I do, or I don’t, you can’t make me, or I won’t, I can, or I cannot

Words uttered with little thought, but rendering so  great an impact.

Image result for image quotes on the power of the tongue

Words have the power to build or break a man.

We are manifestations of what we think. What we think results from experience, that  which we see and what we hear.

Words bestowed upon one by another give and take life, add pain, or color

    You are ignorant or brilliant

    You are beautiful or ugly

    You are talented or useless

    words never forgotten, often remembered.

They say, despite what others say, you are what you believe.

How can one believe in that which he or she has never heard. Can you know the meaning of something without first being taught the word. To think otherwise would be absurd.

As these words enter the mind of man, thus the process begins of delineating truth from fact, of struggling within to piece together the puzzle of self.

Image result for image quotes on power of words

As truth is established through constant witness, ceaseless echo’s and verbal blessings or beatings shapes the image, how can a complete puzzle be created from broken pieces.

Such cannot be retracted. Words once released, find their resting place upon a person’s mind and heart leaving the person to sort through all the verbal traffic. For those with no help sorting, the results are often tragic.

Words once spoke echo throughout the space of time for eternities. Memories are rarely scrubbed bear, once an  imprint is made it is always there.

    Be careful what you say.

With the tongue you have the power to create a life of love, joy, abundance, and splendor. You have the power to destroy all of life that exists in another to their tearing asunder.

  • Conviction

    Conviction quote #1

The one who lives a life of conviction is the possessor of a life of satisfaction.

The individual who lives a life full of conviction lives out life with a passion, the energizing force, which turns dreams to reality and  gives substance to one’s hope.

Image result for Image quotes on conviction

To have conviction is to be firm and steadfast. The ability to be unshaken, immovable, with an formidable spirit. It is the fruit of a deep and abiding faith and belief.

“Faith, is the substance of things hope for, the evidence of things not seen” Hebrews 11:1 .

One’s  dreams, visions, and hopes for achievement of such, are revelatory of  one’s  level of faith and belief.

The manner and extent to which one holds on to that belief reveals an individuals conviction.

It is that individual’s conviction, which will determine the amount of work and effort he or she will put in to achieving that which he or she has hoped for.

One must be convicted about the right things.

Image result for Image quotes on conviction

Being convicted about the wrong thing is a certain path to destruction. All things that seem right are not necessarily right for you.

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 16:25)

Consistently take inventory of your desires, where your seeds of faith rest, and what drives you. If the path you travel is causing you significant pain, although success is not without  struggle, re-evaluate your convictions.

Remember, moving against the current, will always lend to a tumultuous journey.

Finding yourself consistently knocking on a door that will not open, uses up opportunity and unravels time.  Consider whether that door is for  you.

  • Standard

    April 16th, 2015

A full and rewarding life where one’s subsistence not merely provides sustenance, but lends to a life of substance is the holy grail so sought after . Such is an issue of quality versus quantity.

Quality is  a determinant of abundance, richness and fullness of one’s existence while they remain. Quantity refers to the extensible lot of one’s days.

How one lives out life is a determinant of choice. The summation of those days a mere reflection of an individual’s values.

To live a life of value, one must live life deliberately, setting standards to succeed. A life lived wild and un-tethered produces shallow roots, of a tree, struggling to hold firm to the soil wherein it stands. A vulnerable tree, swayed by every wind, reaching deep to maintain, to remain upright, to not bend or snap, just to  withstand the weathering of time.

The latter should be no man’s quest, but rather to live a life with no regrets. For, Life should never be a dull echo of what if’s.

Considering the  seeds  you are now sowing in thought and deed, are you setting  a standard to succeed.

If you are,  “Your end will be much better than your beginning,”

    Standards

Image result for Image quotes on qualityof life

A standard is level of quality, that one seeks to attain. It is the yardstick by which one judges what he or she lets enter their lives, heart, or spirit. It is the model, which one replicates, in order to achieve. Standards are what determine your quality of life and essentially the quantity of days.

Image result for Image quotes on qualityof life

a person without standards  permits the external world to determine the quality of their life. They are ruled by many.  They are like kingdoms without gates, whose rulers welcome any without rhyme or reason. The result is never plenty, because those who are permitted without standards for entry are like marauders who steal your soul, happiness, strength, and leave you empty.

Image result for Image quotes on standards

Set standards and set them high.

Image result for Image quotes on standards

Demonstrate the value you have for your life and your desire to succeed. Lower those standards for no one.

You are what  you think , you grow what you feed, you become that you revere, and you are the sum of those whom you endear, your peers.

Only fly with those who don’t desire to clip your wings. Only immerse yourself in things that will bring increase. Refuse to let others leave imprints on your mind with their dirty feet. Look up to those who have character and a desire to succeed. All else you simply do not need.

  • Conscience

    April 14th, 2015

Image result for image quotes on conscience To everyone a gift is given, an inner voice, a guide. It often goes unnoticed and often pushed aside. It is that small echo in the back of one’s mind, the tiny pull on the heart-strings, that gentle but persistent feeling.  It is what many refer to as the conscience. “…It is the moral law within” (Stephen Covey).

It is God’s voice echoing through our spirits Image result for image quotes on the conscience God's voice

    The Guiding light

Being guided by one’s  conscience leads one to do the right thing,  rather than his or her own thing. It is the voice of reason and wisdom. It is the source of compassion, empathy, and goodness. Conscience is what drives one to do good, and be his or her best self. Image result for image quotes on ignoring conscience

    Conscience can be over-ridden

The still quiet voice can be, and is often disquieted, at which point self becomes the primary focus, this is what one refers to as a hostile takeover, the ascent of the ego.

    The Takeover

” Conscience is the still, small voice within. It is quiet. It is peaceful. Ego is tyrannical, despotic and dictatorial.” ( Stephen Covey).

Image result for image quotes on ignoring conscience

When the ego takes over pain and chaos, ensue. There is a hefty price to be paid to be a slave to one’s ego.

The price of a disquieted conscience is a hard heart.

Image result for image quotes what is a hardened heart Consistent failure to heed to that small still voice lends to a hardness of heart, a malady difficult to cure and the ultimate precursor to one’s destruction. A person in possession of such a heart closes himself off to all those things that bring about abundance. He or she becomes ruled by the ego.

“Ego can’t sleep. It micromanages. It dis-empowers. It reduces one’s capacity. It excels in control. Conscience deeply reveres people and sees their potential for self-control. Conscience empowers. It reflects the worth and value of all people and affirms their power and freedom to choose” (Stephen Covey) .

The result of such is the loss of the human spirit, that which maketh alive.

Image result for image quotes living without a conscience   It is not hard to recognize one who has lost the ability to hear the conscience. The symptoms of such are

    • bitterness
    • greed
    • avarice
    • hatefulness
    • spite
    • callousness
    • selfishness
    • lewdness
    • lasciviousness
    • Addictions

Such are those without an inner guide or voice. Such run head first into destructive action and deprive themselves of true happiness and any long-term success.

“People who do not live by their conscience will not experience this internal integrity and peace of mind. They will find their ego attempting to control relationships. Even though they might pretend or feign kindness and empathy from time to time, they will use subtle forms of manipulation and will even go so far as to engage in kind but dictatorial behavior” (Stephen Covey).

To free oneself an open oneself up to all of the blessings that life has to offer he or she must be guided by wisdom, an inner light that turns one away from practices and behaviors that destroy.   He or she must be willing to listen to that still small voice and do what is right. “Conscience often provides the why, vision identifies what you’re trying to accomplish, discipline represents how you’re going to accomplish it, and passion represents the strength of feelings behind the why, the what, and the how” (Stephen Covey)   Always let your conscience be your guide
