Neglect is the harbinger of death, the antithesis of life.
All things require nurture and care to grow to their full potential, whether it be the human form or talents and gifts.
What you do not take care to nourish and develop will atrophy.
Neglect has become an incurable illness amongst the masses. While some practice neglect as an act of willful ignorance and mindlessness, for others it is due to misplaced priorities and assumptive reasoning.
Assumptions are deadly.
One way that people atrophy is making assumptions that to go along with the status quo is okay. Assuming that the status quo, moving along with the ebb in flow, is the way to growth is a sure path to failure.
Never assume that maintaining the status-quo is enough
The Status quo is a state of immobility; stagnation. Stagnation in all its varied forms is still neglect.
How is going along with the status quo neglectful?
Standing still does not exert energy, therefore there is no progress.
If you are filled with idleness you can never be filled with anything else.
A full pitcher cannot be re-filled without first being emptied.
Thus, we must empty and refill ourselves daily.
Fill ourselves with knowledge, positivism, and hope, this helps us to grow.
You must grow a little every day.
If you are not growing then you are dying.
For the most part, you are either moving forward or backward.
The world moves on. You must move with it.
The hefty price tag of neglect
Neglect brings about the impoverishment of mind, body, and of the spirit. It robs you of everything. As one remains idle, knowledge, talent, and resources slowly dissipate.
A muscle, which lacks exercise shrinks, so can the individual weakened by neglect. He or she is likened to a car, which sits in a parking lot, full of fuel, and idling away its precious energy stores.

To avoid this we must constantly build and that requires energy.
Thankfully, there is no shortage of energy.
Energy is constantly being recycled.
But, you can only attract that which you put out.
To attract growth and gain you must put out effort so that the energy will be returned to you.
“For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away” Matthew 25:29
What you do not use will be given to others who have the will and gumption to grow that which has been given. Don’t stop!
Just keep moving
We don’t have all the answers. We don’t need all the answers to reach our full potential.
We just have to act.
We don’t know where our efforts will take us, that doesn’t matter. We must continue to perfect our strides so that we live fulfilled lives.

Have a love affair with the life you have been given.
Cherish and adore that with which you have been blessed. Care for it, see it into its full development. Put your heart into everything you do. Exercise your potential, feed your dreams, spirit, and your mind. Embrace your gifts natural and adopted and never give up or let go. Remain faithful, always choosing to be you and use what you have been given to shape your life and the world. The grass is not greener on the other side, you simply have to water the grass you have been given.

Our future is yet to be written and our path yet to be paved. We are a blank canvas, pristine, waiting for a masterpiece to be written, waiting for someone or something to give expression to our form. Every day we grow into the fullness of our selves. Every mar and scar inscribed leaves its mark upon our form. It is the result of slight, the carelessness of an artist not refined in his or her craft. The parent not knowing the depth of his or her role. The friend unconcerned with his or her level of influence. The teacher making meaningless impressions. Artists, caring not what the final portrait shall become. Unskilled with paint and brush, carelessly applying strokes of misplaced words, anger, frustration, silence, and sometimes leaving the portrait to develop on its own. Yet, how is it that some come to reach the state of metamorphosis, while other never break free. Perhaps, they have yet to find the artists who will paint them as they should be. Or their eyes have been painted shut by millions of other brushstrokes so they simply cannot see. You cannot use other’s eyes to see who you are, or what you are to be.
There is a fairy tale that is written of a beautiful creation who found itself lost, and feeling less than, because of years of belittling. It was born into a world that defined beauty as that which was possessed by the majority. It did not fit the standards of which it was given.
Each of us are beautiful masterpieces struggling to manifest itself from the mass of stone under which, our true form is hidden.
Recognizing your beauty is a growth process. We all have to go through our metamorphosis before we emerge as a butterflies.
