    Seasons

A season is an allusion to life on both a microcosmic and macrocosmic level.

The truths that can be gleaned by looking at the natural process  through which nature cycles, has a value of unexplored depth.

From this, one can learn how to prepare for changes and conquer the rudimentary elements of our lives.

    Weathering

We all endure seasons of life. In those seasons  everyone and everything goes through a process of weathering.

In scientific terms this refers to the “disintegration or alteration of rock in its natural or original position at or near the Earth’s surface through physical, chemical , and biological processes induced or modified by wind, water, and climate.” -Encyclopedia Britannica

Fundamentally like those rocks  we are often exposed to elements beyond our control, elements that chip away portions of our substance.

Weathering can be hard on any structure.

That is why weather proofing so important.

Weatherproofing, is the act of doing what is necessary to fortify the structure so that it may withstand the elemental processes and endure for an extended period of time.

Just as structures are weatherproofed so can we weatherproof our lives against the known and unknown, as well as the expected and unexpected occurrences in our lives.

To properly fortify one must have the requisite knowledge

    Let us begin

    Life is cyclical.

What has once been, will again be once more.

Acknowledging and understanding  this is the first step to strengthening one’s resolve.

There  is nothing new under the sun and thus, it is assured that someone, somewhere has gone through something similar.

There is more than enough information available regarding how to overcome any situation.

    Seek it.

    The Science of it all

Seasons are natural cycles that occur due to our earth’s rotation as it orbits around the sun

    Image result for images summer

This is a natural principle, a phenomenon finding  its basis in planetary science.

Interestingly enough, revolutions symbolize life and offer context and insight into achievement processes and physiological progression.

Seasons cycle through spring, summer, fall and winter.

We too are subject to seasons, or stages in life

Just as this occurs in our planetary structure, so it does in our bodily structure.

    .

    Spring

Spring is a season of youth and beginnings.

    It symbolizes birth and renewal.

In spring seedlings sprout, butterflies emerge metamorphosed, flower blossoms, and green shoots burst from trees.

There is so much yet to come.

The world is full of expectancy and every part of our being bears fruitfulness.

This is how most start our journeys to excellence; expectant and full of promise.

There is nothing more inspiring than new beginnings and pure and unfettered hope.

When everything is new and fresh one is empowered and energized.

You will recognize this season as one of high energy, plenteous ideas, vivid imaginations and unstoppable drive.

The horizon seems so distant but the stars seem to be in one’s grasp.

There is no doubt that all things are possible.

One can almost certainly expect some rain in this season.

The coming season is often proceeded by many showers.

Remember “April showers bring May flowers.”

It is he, who looks at the whole that realizes this too shall pass

It is he who will stand firmly and expectant for greater things to come in the approaching season.

    Summer

    Image result for images summer

    Summer symbolizes arrival.

It is a season of fullness and zest.

Everything is at the peak of its cycle.

    Flowers are full bloom.

The sun is high in the sky.

    The world is hot.

    This is the prime.

In your achievement cycle this is the best part.

This is  when you find yourself in your stride.

All the showers make way for sunshine, and it seems as if all your efforts are paying off.

The horizon draws closer, and you hold the stars in  your hand.

This is where most people wish to be.

    This is the sweet spot.

    It only comes after spring.

Fullness of bloom comes only after the nourishment one seeks in spring.

Remember you get out in accordance to what you put in.

Although summer is the most lively season; it is also the most tumultuous.

Image result for images of a summer storms

    Storms occur frequently.

Many can brew up without notice.

Some are ultimately destructive forces that can destroy everything in its path.

Knowing this helps one prepare for this.

It helps to know that even though one may have to endure some pretty tough storms, it is a reasonable price to pay to walk in sunshine, and hold the stars in your hand.

Summer, no matter how inviting, always precedes Autumn, a time when the sun does not sit at its zenith.

If not prepared, one can suffer great trepidation regarding one’s transition into the new season.

    This is understandable.

Sometimes descending a mountain after standing on the summit is difficult and it brings sadness.

It is never easy to turn your back to the sun.

One must make peace with this.

Use the foreknowledge to help live a meaningful existence.

    Make every moment count.

Even if one rages and kick against the progression, Summer will always bow to the regality of Autumn.

When passing through this season always remember, there are still greater things to come.

    Autumn

Image result for image quotes about seasons of life

    Autumn symbolizes maturity.

    It is a majestic season.

Leaves are hues of gold and orange.

The earth speaks of time passed, lessons learned,  and of wisdom gained.

It is the season where all things come together.

It is a time when God crowns the earth with silvery dew,  and puts the evening sun to rest against a cool repose.

However, In every season there is beauty and pain.

Unfortunately, fall is also the season of waning.

Things look different and they feel different.

    Vim and Vigor  slowly dissipate.

    Things slow down

    Ones vision becomes more panoramic

It can be daunting and an intense period of adjustment.

    One should remember,

What one begins to lose in vigor one gains in intellect, experience, and wisdom.

Though the trees lose their leaves, the do not lose their beauty.

They simply exchange one form of beauty for another.

In the waning autumn sun they stand, not as before with leaves of green, but with bared limb, statuesque, and branches outstretched to the heavens as if  gathering all corners of earth to hold counsel.

We too can be like that tree.

Although a new season approaches, there is still so much to look forward to.

    Winter

    Winter symbolizes Graduation.

It brings a finality to passing things.

    Purposes are completely fulfilled.

    Matured things are given rest.

If a person has worked hard to achieve, this is when one finds the fulfillment in those accomplishments

It is a time of reflection and gifting.

It is when one passes on the keys to every kingdom and treasure he or she has opened, and blesses the world manifold.

It is mature hands forming the world and engaging in the divine building of new visions and hopes.

It is the syrup sweet part that remains of a cool glass of tea on a warm summers day.

One who prepares for this knows that  passage into winter is not to be feared but to be exalted.

    It is  not the end.

    It is the crowning jewel.

It is the building of legacies and palaces of opportunity.

When one realizes this, one no longer sees winter as biting and un-comforting but welcoming.

So it is wise to keep in mind,

    Therefore,

  • Intuition

    June 8th, 2015

Image result for image quotes on intuition

One of the most important skills you will need to develop to be successful in life is intuitiveness.

Quite often it is believed that instinct and intuition are interchangeable, that intuition is indeed instinctual.

    However, this is fallacy.

Intuition is not an instinctual drive.

Instinct is, “A natural or inherent aptitude, impulse, or capacity.”- Merriam Webster

Therefore, Instinct is inborn. Meaning we are inclined to act in a certain manner by nature. Thus it is deemed to be natural or come naturally.

Such is not the case with intuition.

Babies are born with the ability to develop intuition  but not with intuition itself.

Based on  infant cognitive research, “They found that infants already have an intuitive understanding of certain physical laws by 2 months of age, when they start to track moving objects with both eyes consistently and can be tested with eye tracking technology. This innate “physics” knowledge only grows as the infants experience their surroundings and interact more with the world.” (Castro)

Image result for image quotes on intuition

Instinct is rather impulsive in nature.

“Like all animals, humans have instincts, genetically hard-wired behaviors that enhance our ability to cope with vital environmental contingencies. Our innate fear of snakes is an example. Other instincts, including denial, revenge, tribal loyalty, greed and our urge to procreate, which now threaten our very existence.” Pianka

Such is not the case with intuition.

Image result for image quotes on intuition

It is, “The power or faculty of attaining to direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference”.- Merriam Webster

Meaning that, it is an automatized response based on gained knowledge that is accessed without purposed cognition in times of crisis, prodding one to act.

Intuition is honed intelligence. Repeated experiences build a solid base for automatic action.

It is “a feeling that guides a person to act a certain way without fully understanding why.”- Merriam Webster

Image result for image quotes on intuition

Image result for image quotes on intuition

    How is intuition  gained?

Intuition is gained through experience (interaction with the world).

Each series of lessons learned are sent as signal input , cataloged in the brain, and stored on ones intellectual hard drive.

In short, lessons learned  from repeatable experiences (similar observances or outcomes), become integrated into one’s central processing unit.

Image result for image quotes on intuition

Then a queue of automatic responses is created (learned behaviors).  In latter moments those  environmental cues which occur in tandem, in varied situations,  set off an alarm.

The brain processes, aligns, and links specific triggers  to their linked outcomes.

Fundamentally, when the external stimuli coincides with the triggers, one’s response systems is heightened.

This results in deep feelings or calls to action, which may manifest as physical or mental anxiety; an unsettling (Gut feeling).

It is the “intuitive mind,”a fully operational recognition-recall system

Intuition is powerful even to the saving of lives.

Image result for image quotes on intuition

How the conscience works with one’s intuition

The conscience is the inner guide.

The conscience is the personification of one’s moral inclinations.

The voice that drives one to do the right thing.

It is the echo in  your spirit.

    Conscience awakens and directs .

The conscience is what often refers man to pay attendance to his or her intuition.

The intuition prods one to a course of action.

Image result for image quotes on intuition

The intelligent man or woman’s learns to hone their intuitive abilities and to act accordingly.

This is why purposed and directed learning is so important.

We are like sponges constantly absorbing information for later recall.

Everything we put in comes back.

Our brain uses our store of information to direct action.

You can not act in a manner in which you are unfamiliar.

Lack of knowledge in any situation can only bring about uncertainty, which lends to inaction or ignorance, which lends to wrongful actions.

    Environments are important

Situations you place yourself in are crucial.

The people you attend to bear great significance.

What you consume is what will either save you or end you.

    Always be mindful.

Everyday you are either constructing a minefield or a gold mine.

    Midas or Minus

Image result for image quotes Developing the midas touch

Image result for image quotes on thought of scarcity

Many are suffering from lack, or what seems like a deficiency syndrome.

    It seems like

    1. There is not enough time
    2. Not enough resources
    3. Not enough capital
    4. Not enough opportunities

landscapes look barren, dry, and arid.

The drought is spreading, fissures reaching into spirits parching the inner springs from which hope pours.

An enveloping cloud of malcontent is sweeping global fields.

    One thing is certain,

    scarcity is pervasive.

This is illusion (mirage) a subtle trick of the mind.

It is an curable epidemic running unconstrained.

Its perpetuation dependent upon a self-fulfilling prophecy.

    Self-fulfilling prophecy

Image result for image quotes self fulfilling prophecy

One is constantly expanding that  state in which one currently exists until it encompass everything. You grow what you feed.

Thoughts of scarcity beget statehood’s of scarcity.

Image result for image quotes self fulfilling prophecy

Image result for image quotes self fulfilling prophecy

Thoughts of scarcity are virulent strains that must be eradicated.

Image result for image quotes on thought of scarcity

Self- fulfilling prophecy  works both ways

    What  of  Abundance

We were meant to live lives of plenty and abundance.

We must recognize this as our truth.

    • Manifest abundance (We don’t exhibit poverty in our thought patterns )
    • Speak abundance (We eliminate those negative words that connote to impoverished thinking)
    • Claim abundance (We accept that our abundance is purposed, we don’t let anyone diminish our shine)

    • Walk in abundance (We act, speak, and move in away that demonstrates gratitude for the plenty we have already been given even if it has not manifested itself in the physical realm as of yet)

    Develop the Midas mentality

The Midas Touch flows from the Midas mentality.

The Midas touch is known as the phenomenon wherein the outcome of the majority of an individual’s processes lend to success.

Everything that individuals puts their mind to they succeed at it.

Everything they touch turns to gold.

Image result for image quotes Developing the midas touch

How does one turn everything into gold

For one to have the right touch one must posses the right mindset

    • What you have been given is sufficient for you to succeed (Believe )
    • You have to learn how to wield what you have (Demonstrate)

    • There is always plenty for those who have a deep desire and a need  but there is never enough to feed our greed ( desire the right things)

Image result for image quotes on thought of scarcity

    • Be grateful for the time, resources, and capital you do have, and use what you have been given to the fullest. (Gratitude)

You will be surprised with the results.

  • The Middle

    June 1st, 2015

There is something about being in the “middle” that seems to invoke feelings of mediocrity, of resolution, and finality.

It is a feeling of not having fully arrived.

It seems that we are  “men in the middle”.

Doomed to hold the rank of “middle class”.

Somehow  we will be forever “stuck in the middle.”

    “In the middle of nowhere.”

Its not always looked upon as a favorable position.

The middle seems to be at some unidentifiable point between failure and victory.

    Remember, Perception is everything.

As so well penned in Jimmy Eat Worlds Lyrics, “The Middle”

“Hey, don’t write yourself off yet. It’s only in your head you feel left out or looked down on. Just do your best (just do your best), do everything you can (do everything you can). And don’t you worry what the bitter hearts are gonna say.”

What if we looked at the middle just a bit different

In the middle is where you find the juicy bits.

In the middle sits the stuff of substance.

No one sandwiches bread between meat.

The meat is always found in the middle.

Image result for images of a sandwich

The most sumptuous part of the pie is the delicious filling.

Image result for images of pie filling

Finishing the pie brings about fulfillment.

The middle is the most delicious.

     The in-between part

The in-between part (the middle) is the process It is the path to becoming.

It is the stream one must wade through to reach the outer bank.

The one who jumps from end to end, whose feet have never touched the middle, may experience the high of making it. They will never fully appreciate the win, or understand how to get there again.

It is struggling through the process that increases value.

Image result for Image quotes struggling through the process increases value

Treading through the middle  builds cognizance , effective methodology, and intuition.

It is where one builds their practice to repeatable mastery. Lessons gained through trial are lessons not soon forgotten.

    Working it out

Image result for Image quotes struggling through the process increases value

Remember in grade school when teacher’s drilled on the importance of working out the problem.

Even if you got the answer right, you got it wrong because you did not work through it.

Turns out there was a point, after all; a method to the madness.

In life, its not always about the answer

Image result for Images on coming to the right answer

Especially, not getting it right on the first go around.

Few get everything right the first time.

But it always has, and always will be  about how you got there. How you followed the rainbow to reach your pot of gold.

Image result for Images on coming to the right answer

    Unfortunately,

John Watzkin, notes in his excellent book  “The Art of learning a journey on the pursuit to Excellence.

“its not about the results, its about what it took to get there”

It is methodical work and effort, work and reworking, that one’s builds a solid foundation upon which success can be repeated.

    Passing the test

    Passing the test is exhilarating.

    Passing the test indicates achievement.

The question one must ask themselves is, what is  the significance of my achievement.

“You may pass the test, but learn absolutely nothing, and most critically, you don’t gain any appreciation for the value or beauty of learning itself” (Watzkin, p. 50).

Even more important than passing the test is learning something in the process.

    Stuck in the middle

“Yes I’m stuck in the middle with you, And I’m wondering what it is I should do, It’s so hard to keep this smile from my face, Losing control, yeah, I’m all over the place, Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.” – Stealers Wheel lyrics

    1. Don’t give up.
    2. Don’t get comfortable.

States are temporary, we move into them and out of them.

It is only when we put down roots that we remain permanent residents of a state, whether it be a physical location or a state of mind.

Most  everyone has to pass through the middle to get to the other side.

We simply must not get stuck there.

“Growth comes at the point of resistance” (Watzkin p. 61).

Image result for Image quotes struggling through the process

    • Work out the problems
    • Sweat it out (in the middle).
    • Show your effort.
    • Build mastery in the process.
    • The end will take care of itself.

  • Open your tool belt

    May 30th, 2015

     Open your tool belt

The attainment of knowledge put’s one in position to achieve.

It is the effective use of that knowledge that brings about the power necessary to move from conceptualization to realization.

Everyone has within them the tools to build a bridge spanning from their current state to their potential state. It simply requires reaching within oneself and making good use of what you have.

Let’s open that tool belt together

In that tool bet exists three extremely powerful tools.

    • Your mind
    • Your words
    • Your spirit

If used correctly these tools will well assist you in constructing a foundation for success that can withstand the raging storms of life.

These tools will provide you with the wisdom needed to make the right decisions, at the right time, unlocking unfathomable potentialities.

A beginner’s guide to your tool belt

Seek and you shall find  (Use your mind)

    Don’t neglect your mind.

Like all things, the mind too grows weak when not used.

Exercise your brain just as you would your body.

When a muscle is not used it shrinks (atrophy). If not used for long periods of time the muscles will become too weak to sustain activity.

When we learn new things, or  take on new challenges we strengthen our mental muscles.

Image result for Image quotes don't neglect your mind

We build greater and stronger synaptic connections  and our neurotransmitters fire at greater speeds.

“The more signals sent between two neurons, the stronger the connection grows and so, with each new experience and each remembered event or fact, the brain slightly re-wires its physical structure.”- Luke Mastin

“The efficacy of synaptic transmission is not constant; it varies depending upon the frequency of stimulation. It is very difficult to overestimate the importance of synaptic transmission. It is critical to the basic functioning of the nervous system and appears to be critical in learning and memory.” –University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston

    We  can increase our potentiality.

With increase of potential comes an increase in possibilities for greater opportunities to succeed.

    Maintain a discoverers mind.

Never tire of the search for knowledge.

Consume all that you can concerning your path. We can not grow beyond that which we know.

Our knowledge is the vehicle that drives us from “A” to  where we want to “Be.” Trying to transverse continents of possibilities with out a vehicle (knowledge) would take an eternity.

Many who find themselves in this situation, often look back and say if I had known then what I know now then my life would be an entirely different thing.

    Such is inexcusable.

    One’s existence should never culminate to this’ ” should’ve, could’ve, would’ve now I can’t so ( I ain’t) or will not.”

We have access to everything we need.

    We simply need to seek

Ask and it shall be given  (Use your words)

    Inquiry is everything.

Never be afraid to ask questions.

Image result for Image quotes ask questions

    This is how we learn.

The only silly question is one that is never asked.

Most will not volunteer information to you.

Failure to ask questions will make your trek a long and laborious one.

People who fall in this category often run head first into obstacle after obstacle before getting it right.

The path’s have already been paved.

The maps have already been drawn.

You simply need to ask for directions.

If you want something ask for it.

Image result for Image quotes don't be afraid to ask for what you want

    Don’t be ashamed.

There are few mind readers, if any, that exist among us. No one is aware of what you desire. You must make it known.

Nothing is worse than having a dream locked deep inside you, a potential for great things,  and you throw away the key.

Ask and it shall be given.

Knock and it shall be opened unto you  (Use your spirit energy)

    Nurture the spirit of perseverance.

Realize there is something out there for you.

Behind some door, somewhere, you will find that thing, with your name on it, that was meant for only you.

It will not come to you.

You have to seek for it.

Some may have to knock on a lot of doors before one of them opens.

One thing is certain no one will open the door unless you knock.

Knock hard and knock often until you find the right door.

When people close the door in your face, step back realize its okay because what was behind that door was not meant for you anyway.

Keep moving and keep knocking until things change.

Use every tool that you have at your disposal to build a bridge to the attainment of everything that exists for you to succeed.
