Lessons of Nature: Gravity

Life has variable lessons.

If we are to remain still for just a moment, we will hear the voices of wisdom all around us.

“I do believe in an everyday sort of magic — the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we’re alone.”
Charles de Lint

Not just from the physical but both the natural and supernatural.

Everyday there are people and things placed in our paths to guide us.

We simply must remain still.

“Be still
Stillness reveals the secrets of eternity”
Lao Tzu

Perhaps if we do, we will hear the voices.

The voices of  nature whispering in our ears, drawing us to observe.

The voice of the conscious pulling our hearts to hold attendance.

The voice of the divine saying therein are the secrets of life.

“I have often wondered whether especially those days when we are forced to remain idle are not precisely the days spend in the most profound activity. Whether our actions themselves, even if they do not take place until later, are nothing more than the last reverberations of a vast movement that occurs within us during idle days.

In any case, it is very important to be idle with confidence, with devotion, possibly even with joy. The days when even our hands do not stir are so exceptionally quiet that it is hardly possible to raise them without hearing a whole lot.”
Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters on Life

However, we often shun our guides both physical and natural.

We hear but don’t listen.

We look but don’t see.

We touch but don’t feel.

There it awaits (wisdom of all creation). Awaiting the moment your ears, eyes, and heart will be opened.

Waiting for you to be ready to partake in the wisdom of the ages.

A lesson from nature

Nature is governed by natural principles (rules).

All of nature is bound by these rules.

Only a supernatural act  would permit one,  framed in natural form after their own kind, to deny these principles.

To deny these principles would mean one has shed the natural form.

We are in control of our destinies, although under the constraint of nature

While we can not necessarily defy such principles. We can harness such principles to work for us.

We can use the cards we are dealt to improve the state of our existence. .

Let us think deeply on this matter.

Lessons in Gravitational principles

” Gravity is the force that pulls your body toward the Earth.” -Kathleen Mulvaney

The principle  implies that everything, which ascends must as some point descend.

How are we to use this?

“Understanding the principles of gravity can help you increase your balance.” – Kahtleen Mulvaney

Knowing the principles of gravity can help you gain firm footing, live a balanced life, and have solid success.

What are the lessons to be learned?

Lesson 1: Ascend slowly

Take your time.

Enjoy the journey upwards.

Success can be gradual or it can come quickly.

You are always in control of the situation.

Never be in a hurry to reach the top, especially without a solid plan for what you will do after you get there, and when it is time to descend.

The view from above is just captivating. It is a given that once we have reached the apex or the summit, we never want to come down.

The laws of nature will not permit  it. Once you reached the top there is no where to go but down.

“As we rise upwards after our jump, the force of gravity slows us down.”

“As we fall back to Earth after reaching the peak of our motion, the force of gravity speeds us up. In this sense, the force  of gravity causes an acceleration of our bodies during this brief trip away from the earth’s surface and back.” – The Physics Classroom

Take it slow.

When you reach the pinnacle be grateful, enjoy the view.

Leave a legacy.

“Always leave them wanting more.”

Lesson: 2   To life add substance

Make your life count.

While it is true that what goes up must come down, make it so that  your departure will count for something.

Create depth so that your work and character will make you an immovable fixture long after you have exited stage left.

“The particle with less mass  (which may or may not be the smaller particle, depending upon their densities) will accelerate more than the other particle. This is why light objects fall to the Earth considerably faster than the Earth falls toward them.” – Andrew Zimmerman Jones

The stronger your work and character, the longer it will take for your imprint to dissolve.

Lesson 3: Remain centered

A strong center increases the probability of solid achievement and success.

” The center of gravity occurs in the body at a point where weight is equally distributed on all sides. From this point, a body can pivot in any direction and remain balanced.” – Kathleen Mulvaney

When you are balanced you increase the firmness of your hold.

Lesson 4:  Remain grounded

To be grounded is to be humble,  not think to highly of one’s self or of your gift. To be rational and reasonable. To remember where you come from because one day  you may have to return.  Grounding oneself come from being solidly centered and thus creating and maintaining balance.

The greater your equilibrium (state of balance), the more solid your hold,  the easier it is to push through the obstacles that will come against you.

“The closer your center of gravity is to the ground, the more support you will have; the farther apart you place your feet, the steadier you will feel. A good base of support is needed if you are doing heavy lifting or moving heavy objects” –Kathleen Mulvaney

Much to learn.

There is much to glean from  the world wherein we exist.

The ultimate key to success is to take time to,

  • Stop
  • listen
  • See
  • Feel

What the physical, natural, and divine are trying to say to you.

“We know that God is everywhere; but certainly we feel His presence most when His works are on the grandest scale spread before us; and it is in the unclouded night-sky, where His worlds wheel their silent course, that we read clearest His infinitude, His omnipotence, His omnipresence.”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

Take those lessons and use them to live the best life you can ever imagine.
