Many confuse wisdom with knowledge and intellect.

These terms are all very different.

Knowledge is, ” acquaintance with or understanding of a science, art, or technique” – Merriam Webster

Intellect is, ” the capacity for rational or intelligent thought especially when highly developed” -Merriam Webster

An intellectual is, “a person with great intellectual powers.” -Merriam Webster

Wisdom, ” knowledge that is gained by having many experiences in life.” – Merriam Webster

Typology

There are two types of wisdom

1. Divine wisdom

2.  Natural (earthly wisdom)

Divine Wisdom

Divine wisdom is a gift it is granted to those who earnestly desire it.

Natural Wisdom

Natural wisdom is gained wisdom

It is presupposed that natural wisdom equates to knowledge and intellect.

One who has sufficient knowledge is said to be learned.

One who has superior intellect is said to be genius. However, neither equates to wisdom.

Knowledge comes from books, people, and the like.

One cannot become wise through osmosis.

Reading books and literature maketh no man wise.

One may be born with intellect, or become the greatest of intellectuals. Yet only managed to be come wise in his or her own conceits. Never unearthing true wisdom.

One may become a scholar of scholars but have never gained a tenth of wisdom.

One does not acquire wisdom by means of birth.

One must grow into wisdom.

Wisdom comes with time.

It is the result of experiential intelligence; life lessons learned through trial and error .

However, experience in and of itself does not develop into wisdom.

But rather, it is using the knowledge gained from experience toward better decision making and movement.

No matter what form of wisdom one possess, he who is blessed with wisdom is blessed among many.

He or she has all they will ever need to succeed.
