Throughout life we have to make compromises.

We often have to give up something to gain something else.

We have been born with unique talents, abilities, and gifts.

While we may possess most of what we need to succeed, we do not possess all, we still need others.

No one person embodies everything.

No one person embodies all gifts.

We live in a world of complements, of halves, in search for completion.

A complement is, “something that completes something else or makes it better.”- Merriam Webster.

We need complements.

Those who complement or shore up our weaknesses bring added value.

In business,  bringing together complements would end in a better product or service.

In relationships, finding complements, make us better people.

These value added relationships are predicated on give and take (compromise).

To successfully make it together in this world we have to give something of ourselves in order to receive something unto ourselves.

We have to make compromises.

However, we have to be careful not to compromise everything.

2. Morals

3. Beliefs (principles/values)

When you compromise these things you lose yourself. In essence, you sell your soul and all those things, which make you unique, beautiful, and give you definition and meaning.

Never sell yourself for accomplishment or achievement of some materialistic goal.

Beware of the buyer or pursuer who has no concern for you, but only what you have to offer (what you have to give).

One who engages in compromising self for material gain, or untenable relationships will find themselves spending their entire lives trying to sell themselves.

If not careful, the same people will find themselves peddling their talents and their worth to the highest bidders at higher and higher costs just to stay viable.

They sell everything they have of worth until they are completely used up. In return they lose everything that is of real value.

In the end, you have to live with yourself.
