I was once told that words meant nothing, that they were nothing more than the vain echo’s of another simply bouncing off the surface of the walls and floors.
After all sticks and stones can break your bones, but words can never hurt you.
A word would cause no harm, no hurt. A word would never cause such destruction in a man insomuch that he would crumble, crumple, or fall.
Surely, words (simply exchanges of air given melody or rhythm) had no destructive force.
They were wrong.

Words have the power to both maim and cripple the part of a man incapable of being touched by any man-made weapon.
Words have the power to penetrate the mind of a man, seep into a man’s spirit, dissect resolve, splinter the spirit, and rend the heart.
Yes, words may not break bones, but the implosion of words upon the spirit of a man can break all that a man believes himself to be, and thus how he or she moves in their waking hours.

The power of the tongue
The tongue is the most powerful weapon that an individual possesses.
Yet it is the most abused and misused.
With the tongue civilizations have been built and torn asunder.
With a word wars have been waged, and lives have been saved.
With a word everything that we now see was made.
Our very existence is predicated on just a few words. ” Let there be,” and there was.
Words shape and form our image, hopes, and destinies.
Words turn our course and for some determine eternity.
Simple words such as yes, no, stay, go, I do, or I don’t, you can’t make me, or I won’t, I can, or I cannot
Words uttered with little thought, but rendering so great an impact.
Words have the power to build or break a man.
We are manifestations of what we think. What we think results from experience, that which we see and what we hear.
Words bestowed upon one by another give and take life, add pain, or color
You are ignorant or brilliant
You are beautiful or ugly
You are talented or useless
words never forgotten, often remembered.
They say, despite what others say, you are what you believe.
How can one believe in that which he or she has never heard. Can you know the meaning of something without first being taught the word. To think otherwise would be absurd.
As these words enter the mind of man, thus the process begins of delineating truth from fact, of struggling within to piece together the puzzle of self.
As truth is established through constant witness, ceaseless echo’s and verbal blessings or beatings shapes the image, how can a complete puzzle be created from broken pieces.
Such cannot be retracted. Words once released, find their resting place upon a person’s mind and heart leaving the person to sort through all the verbal traffic. For those with no help sorting, the results are often tragic.

Words once spoke echo throughout the space of time for eternities. Memories are rarely scrubbed bear, once an imprint is made it is always there.
Be careful what you say.
With the tongue you have the power to create a life of love, joy, abundance, and splendor. You have the power to destroy all of life that exists in another to their tearing asunder.
